At Cabañas de Xarás we do not seek to offer just another accommodation in the middle of nature. We want to offer a unique and carefully designed space to integrate into the environment. That is why we entrusted this project to the internationally renowned architect of Vigo, Alfonso Penela. His work is characterized by the search for a Galician architectural language and the use of articulating volumes governed by balance and compositional order.

The premise on which this project was born is: each cabin hugs a tree. Thus, between willow and oak trees, and a stone’s throw from fine white sand beaches in the Ría de Pontevedra estuary, Alfonso designed a project that is committed to locally sourced wood as the main structural element, the use of top quality materials and the use of natural light to the maximum.

In addition to creating a fluid relationship between interior and exterior spaces, our cabins are built with environmentally friendly structural solutions from local suppliers that form a perfect fusion with our native Galician forest. For this reason, our four cabins have a wooden heart, as well as unparalleled views over the Atlantic Ocean.
